Omar:  Is your phone system a VOIP or legacy system?  Our newer VOIP system was dropping calls, needed some software updates.  But it may have the capacity to provide some analytics, depending on the platform that it is using.  That said, documenting what time/extension/phone line a problem occurs seemed to be helpful to the phone/IT team working on that.
