Solo practice. Look at receipts and billings monthly. Charges mean nothing, allowables do. Very little need for collections agency.

Yes at the end of the year; I have the opportunity to review the financial statements with our accountant and a few of the other doctors in our group.

i look at them in our practice. can’t say I completey understand.  Always a large “write off”.  Is this about 60% collection efficient?

I think Theory X is a easy fall back, the lazy way out and makes leaders feel in control- even if the ship is sinking.  Theory Y requires a good bit of effort on the part of leadership- having a clear mission, being transparent and empowering your team.  Not just lip service but actually valuing the opinions/implementing the ideas of those who k…[Read more]

My fellowship was Theory X.  It worked for the director.  In hindsight, it discouraged questions (lack of acceptance to new technique etc.) and did little to foster self confidence in the fellow.  Some fellow sought additional training as they left feeling unprepared.
