Dave, I believe as you do that education is vital to any change. Without people speaking up and getting some kind of critical mass to effectuate change through education, people leave the organization ASAP. I am sure all candidates would have the necessary clinical qualifications. That being said, I would probe more on the candidates leadership skills and methods to solve problems. More specifically, I want the person to describe his leadership style and if he is experienced with process improvement methodology. I would certainly ask for examples.
