Inconsistent, unreliable, incomplete, unpredictable and costly.
All of the above adjectives describe work processes that need to be changed. Processes that produce less than optimal results, are frustrating to perform, and are frequently being redone to achieve a specific outcome, which is costly and time consuming. Moreover, those processes may be unsafe as well. Such processes demand to be improved in order to achieve consistent optimal results or outcomes.
This course focuses on the techniques of the Clinical Process Improvement (CPI) methodology. The CPI methodology employs a data driven, step by step approach to identify the root cause of process problems. Once a root cause is identified, process problems can be eliminated with solutions that attain consistent and reliable outcomes. The methodology also demonstrates how to maintain improvements over the long term. CPI formalizes an improvement process that will result in optimal outcomes, that are predictable, safe, and cost efficient.
What you will learn:
- A step by step approach to improving any process.
- The mechanics of choosing what processes to improve.
- Improvement team formation and dynamics.
- Techniques for root cause analysis.
- Data gathering and processing techniques.
- Maintenance of improvements for the long term.
The course allows you to proceed at your own pace. A multi-media virtual classroom with a social media component allows participants to communicate with colleagues and network. This web based application plays on any device using any network including mobile.
