I have limited access to our profit loss statements and previously I did not have much interest in them. Now I do. Last month the Hospital I work for eliminated the pediatrics department based on budget concerns. This blindsided all the physicians working in this hospital. Apparently hospital administration was looking at the financials one way and the physician leadership was not privy to these numbers or interpreting them in another way.
