This course will provide you with the skills to take an active role in the financial decision making process in your organization.  Sound finance and high quality patient care are inseparable.  The proper allocation of financial resources is essential to your ability to deliver superior care.  As a nurse, it is your responsibility to take an active role and add your patient’s voice to those financial decisions. 

Communicating financial information through financial statements is just the first step toward informed decision making.  As with your clinical knowledge, one must master the language and vocabulary.  Only then can you communicate and integrate financial information into sound decision making.  From there you will learn to analyze the health of your organization, determine the efficiency of handling revenue and money,  then use this information make sure the financial decisions represent the best interests of your patients.
