The healthcare provider who is in closest contact with the patients is in the best position to initiate improvement that has the greatest chance to affect outcomes.  Nurses regularly find themselves in that position without the tools to accomplish meaningful change.  Traditional nursing education is rich in clinical knowledge while at the same time lean in clinical practice improvement skills. As with most clinical procedures, standardizing the manner in which a procedure is done improves the outcome.  The same is true to the methodology of improvement.

This course will provide the skills needed to lead a CPI project.  Beginning with problem selection through solution implementation and follow-up to retain your gains long term, we take you step by step through the “How to” while at the same time providing the “Why”.  By the end of the course you will be able to lead an CPI style improvement initiative for your practice, and hopefully instruct you team members at the same time.  Improvement done by those doing the work is improvement that benefits both patients and providers.
